Make BisonCam work on Windows Vista

I had a problem installing the BisonCam Driver on my ASUS Laptop running Windows Vista, The XP driver didn’t work at all and I expected that… This is how I got it working… Download the driver Bison_Camera_Vista32_NB.zip from MSI and install it. Then you need to Reboot. Do NOT avoid to reboot because you are too lazy, otherwise it won’t work! After that, you need to make some registry modifications. Easy way to do it is to copy the registry code into notepad and save it as a .reg file. After that, just double click the .reg file and apply the registry modification. (Copy the code in between Registry Info tag) The Cam might show the picture as upside down, All you got to do is a Verticle Flip, Its on the Option ==> Video Capture Filter ==> Rotation Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 <br /> [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cam5603D]<br /> "SensorType"=dword:0000000a<br /> "LensType"=dword:0000000c<br /> "ImageSize"=dword:00000001<br /> "ViewSize"=dword:00000a50<br /> "SnapItem"=dword:00000000<br /> "MPTest"=dword:00000000<br /> "RGB24"=dword:00000000<br /> "WideScreen"=dword:00000000<br /> "DeviceOffOn"=dword:00000000<br /> "CpuUsage"=dword:00000000<br /> "DcOffset"=dword:00000000<br /> "AeTable"=dword:00000000<br /> "PCB_SIZE"=dword:00000001<br /> "PropShowItem"=dword:00000000<br /> "SXGASize"=dword:00000001<br /> "BlockS3S4"=dword:00000000<br /> "AETarget"=dword:00000000<br /> "FlikerLim"=dword:00000000<br /> "InterpolationMethod"=dword:00000000<br /> "ADC"=dword:00000000<br /> "DC_Level"=dword:00000000<br /> "Gama_Offset"=dword:00000000<br /> "ImageEffect"=dword:00000000<br /> "ChkPacketHdr"=dword:00000000<br /> "SaBase"=dword:00000006<br /> "SaDivitor"=dword:00000006<br /> "SensorYUYV"=dword:00000000<br /> "AvgAE"=dword:00000000<br /> "Timer1"=dword:0000000a<br /> "Timer2"=dword:0000005a<br /> "PowerDown"=dword:00000000<br /> "DoXPC3"=dword:00000001<br /> "Do2KC3"=dword:00000001<br /> Read more

AdobeUpdater.exe CPU Resource Hog

I have been experiencing some strange issue with Adobe software, when I launch it, there will be a program called AdobeUpdater.exe will automatically executes. This .exe will use about 99% of the CPU runtime and will not be able to kill it via Process Kill, which means a reboot is eminent. I have tried two methods, one worked, one didn’t I Renamed updater.api under C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\plug_ins That didn’t work at all… Than I tried renaming AdobeUpdater.exe to AdobeUpdater2.exe under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater5 Which seems to work and hence this is a temporary solution. According to my research, Adobe is aware of this problem so, I guess they will be releasing a patch soon…

Hydrogen Powered Car

This is called the sequel; looks like an ordinary car but uses liquid hydrogen as its primary power source. Since it has no motor, you can no longer call this a ‘Motor Car’ and obviously, since it has no engine like an electric car, it is very quiet. So, how does it work? Apparently, instead of filling petrol you need to fill this car with Liquid Hydrogen, the hydrogen tanks and placed under the flood board. You can see an illustrated diagram below… Once you start the car, there will be a chemical reaction going on beneath your feet. (I know it is scary!) So, the fuel cell is turning hydrogen into electricity, and that is what making the wheel turn… Let’s talk about the pros and con… Pros: Environment Friendly: Because it’s using hydrogen, there is no nocuous exhaust fume like Co2 etc, just invisible droplets of steam. Virgin Media / Telewest Broadband Via Router (WRT54GS)

Since Telewest does not use authentication, it can be a bit puzzling if you are going to share your broadband internet connection via a Router. I will be using a LinkSys WRT54GS as an example… Before you do that, it is recommend doing the following… Turn off your modem and your Router for about 5 minutes so your PC MAC lease will expire so you can use your Router’s MAC If you are having MAC address issue, then you can get your Network Card’s MAC Address by going to Start = type CMD type ipconfig /all Write it down, login to the router and use the MAC Address Clone Feature. It’s a 12 Digit code, looks something like this 00-04-5B-89-21-7F If a cable provider does not use Authentication method, the only way to make your router talk to the modem is via Automatic Configuration – DHCP.
